On August 1st, 1907, the first scout camp on Brownsea island was opened by Baden Powell. The World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) proposes to celebrate the 100th anniversary of this event as a so-called 'Scouting's Sunrise'.
Scouts all over the world will meet on this day to renew their scout promise. Special events will take place on the World Scout Jamboree and on Brownsea island.
For those who cannot take part in these events (like us) there will be a broadcast on the internet which will show the celebrations.
